Of course we all know that family stories are important but I was a bit surprised to see that TAZO Tea knows this too!
Here’s what I read on the back of the TAZO calm chamomile tea box:
and begin a journey that spans
continents and centuries
on speed-of-sound steam trains.
the sun, rain and fog of the morning
these delicate botanicals were picked.
lemongrass lawns, carpets of chamomile
and the living history of your ancestors.
Taste with all your senses, but most of all
with your imagination.
Each cup is a story, unfolding with every sip.
(Italics and highlights are mine.)
What smells and tastes instantly remind you of people, places, traditions, comfort, and stories in your past or present?
For me it’s the smell of hot tortillas cooking on a comal over a fire or the first bite of a tangy green mango slathered with salt. And, of course, pumpkin pie.
But that’s me. Your remembered smells and tastes will be uniquely you.
So don’t forget taste and smell when it comes to remembering your family stories and writing them down. You may come up with an array of tasty tales to tell just by breathing deeply at the dinner table and relishing the memories that come to mind.
